Happy Birthday to Jentri, Part II

Here goes nothing...some more pics from Jentri's birthday!

Uncle Bean was generous enough to share his wealth with Jen. I'll tell her when she's older how mean he was not to let her keep it, but she held on to it for a while. She even put it with her toys for safe keeping, as seen in the next pic.

She's Rich! For a minute at least until Uncle Bean put it BACK in his wallet. How rude! :)

So what d'ya think? America's Next Top Model? As long as I'm not her hairstylist, I suppose. I think she'll be taking the runways as soon as she can master walking though. :)

I really just snapped this pic to get her "eating ice cream that's cold" face, but hmm. How did I get such a beautiful daughter??? These glasses were a big hit, thanks Aunt Toni! We put them on her and she got so excited and scanned the whole room to show everyone how stylin' she is. SO CUTE! Now when we put them on she'll do a Stevie Wonder style head nod with a huge grin. I need to get it on video, I can't explain it well enough for you to have the whole picture. It's so funny!

Jentri and her friend Natalia playing with all her presents.
She is one spoiled girl!! Thanks everyone!Cousin Sydney and Aunt Wendy got a hold of my camera. They're pretty cute I guess :) Cousin Hayden outside with the Elmo pinata, and in his words, "I'm beatin' the crap out of Elmo!" and kept repeating that every time he got a hit. Take it out on poor Elmo!?! Are we surprised that he was the one to bust it open? Hmmm...
No, Jake isn't helping the kids with their candy, he's fighting them off so he can have his own. I tried to tell him we had a whole bowl for him in the house, but he didn't listen. He's my big kid, for sure! Needless to say, he likes pinatas. :)Cake #2 was a lot more messy, which I guess is what we were going for. ;) She dug in pretty good, but was pretty slow at it. The cousins didn't stick around to watch her finish. It was pretty funny. messy face!
Mmmm....cake.... Sharing some with Daddy, that's so nice...
After cake and ice cream we played guitar hero and the Wii to our hearts content. This pic was classic of Hayden. He was so good at this game, he beat me at it! I guess that's not saying much for me, my guitar hero skills are next to nothing, but still. He was pretty good. As you can see, he got into it.

Jen decided she'd had enough fun. I put her jammies on and thought I'd let her play with the cousins a little longer, but not even kidding within 10 seconds of sitting down with her, she was out for the count. Such a fun day!
Well that's it for her birthday, now that she's almost 13 months old. :) Just a little side note update, Jake and I got new callings. We won't be teaching primary anymore, and we're so sad! Our new callings will be fun though. Jake is going to teach the 15-16 year olds in Sunday school, and I was called as the 2nd counselor in the young women's presidency. I'll be over the Beehives. I'm already overwhelmed and we haven't even had an activity yet! It'll keep me busy for sure! I'm excited though, it'll be fun.
Well, Jentri's waking up so I must be off to more Mama duties. Happy Tuesday! Love Ya'll!

Happy Birthday to Jentri!

I know what you're all thinking, FINALLY some pictures to look at! Well, here's the mother load!!

We celebrated Jentri's first birthday!! Crazy! Her actual birthday was on the 4th, and we had a low-key cake & ice cream deal with Aunt Kristi and Uncle Casey. And then on Saturday, the 8th we had a Sesame Street birthday party. Here are a few pics from the events... The face of a one-year old. Just another day, I guess. It's rough being 1. We tried pigtails again, we're still pretty new at it as you can see. Her hair reminded me of Darla from Finding Nemo, "Fishie, wake up!" :) Anyway, moving on... :)

One month old...

12 month old...

I saw this idea in a scrapbook magazine: to take a picture of your baby every month for the first year (with the same stuffed animal) to show how much they've grown. I'm surprised I kept up with it. It sure was hard to get her to hold still these last couple of times, I'll tell ya that! She looks so big and has changed so much!! Where'd my tiny little preemie girl go?
Her actual birthday was a low-key one. Grandma Snarr came down and took Jentri and I to Brick Oven for lunch. Yum! Jentri had some of my pizza, and her first taste of root beer. She didn't like it at first, but it's growing on her I think :)
You win a prize if you can find Grandma! Jen knew just when to move her balloon I guess. Speaking of balloons, who knew that a FREE balloon was all we had to get her for her birthday?!?! I should've known! She got so excited and was very upset when I had to tie it down and she couldn't quite reach it in the car. She played with it for the rest of the day.
Ready for your cupcake, Jen? I'm ready for the mess!

Testing the waters...not really sure what she thinks of it...

Eatin' a little, but not digging in like we thought she would... More on her hands and arms than in her mouth

Pausing to do a little crowd pleasing...

AND FINALLY.....(drum roll...)

Thrown to the floor, the unfortunate fate of the cupcake.

TO BE CONTINUED....

Am I the Only One With This Problem?

Look at me! I'm posting and it's not even the end of February. I'm so proud of myself!

So this morning I woke up feeling a little less than refreshed, and I'm sure that never happens to any of you :) (especially you mommies). It's been a while since Jentri's woken up at 5am, and that's just a little early for the non-morning person that I am. I almost immediately thought of when nap time would be, which then led to a series of thoughts. Is it bad that I sometimes watch the clock until nap time? I love my Jentri dearly, that's for sure, but some days I just get so stinkin' excited when she's finally asleep for a little bit and I can actually feel like I'm getting something accomplished.

However, as time goes by, I find that not only is nap time a great time of day, but I also find that I'm still not accomplishing ANYTHING around my house these days. The reason? I'm addicted to BLOGS! I never thought I'd say that, but it's true. I can't get enough! I really will tell myself, "OK, you can only read one, and THEN you have to go fold the laundry," or "You have to clean at least one room before you get on the computer." SHEESH! It's all your fault! :) It's like waiting for the next episode of a favorite TV show; you look forward to and wonder with anticipation what's going to happen next! Am I the only one with this problem? I hope not! :)

I have decided, though, that I love keeping in touch with people and knowing what's going on in your lives. This might be the source of my addiction, but who knows?

I sure think ya'll are great. I'm blessed to have you in my life. That's all of my ramblings and random thoughts for now. Happy Friday!

PS- Speaking of nap time, does anyone have any ideas for getting kiddies on a regular sleep schedule? I just can't seem to get it right. I've tried my darndest, but can't seem to do it. I guess she's pretty consistent in that she sleeps whenever, wherever, but I don't know if that's what I should go for. Any ideas?

Happy January!

I realize saying this in the middle of January is a bit late, but HAPPY NEW YEAR! Please know that I have every intention of keeping this up to date this year. I have a renewed motivation, a "resolution" if you will, to update our blog at least once a month. We'll see how things go. So far so good :)

This picture is one of my favorites from the Holidays. Not only do we love the Christmas dress from Grandma Price, but what's more we love that she would get so excited about a little plastic camel. Simple pleasures...she's so dang cute! Ok, so I'm a little biased, but still. How can you not love this little girl!?! Can you believe she's 10 months old already?!
It's pretty crazy.

Life is good at the Price home. Christmas was really great, and we loved having Jentri with us in our first house this Christmas. As was predicted, she was more interested in the wrapping paper than the actual gifts, but at least she enjoyed ripping them open. Christmas morning was off to a bit of a rough start, in that Jentri was so excited for Santa to come she woke up at 4 AM. I thought we had more time before all that Christmas anticipation stuff. Ok so the real story is that she'd been coming down with a cold and hadn't been sleeping well the poor little thing! Not a fun thing for your first Christmas. Luckily she went back to sleep that morning, but was awakened later by her dad coming down the stairs singing Christmas Carols VERY loudly. He's a pretty deep sleeper, so when he woke up he just thought Jen and I were downstairs waiting for him to open presents. Little did he know, we were sleeping! I'm pretty sure I was a little less than merry and bright that morning, my bad. Sorry Jake!

Jentri of course got some clothes and toys for Christmas. Her favorite things right now are toys she can shake, make noise with, and of course put in her mouth. She also loves books. I caught her just this morning turning the pages of one of her board books and pointing to things and "talking" as if telling the story. It was pretty cute. Anyway, back to Christmas...

Uncle Zac and Aunt Aly got her a Tickle Me Elmo that she still will have NOTHING to do with. Even with no tickling involved she's deathly afraid of him. What's not to like about Elmo? C'mon Jen. Hopefully she'll come around.

She was a big hit in this year's Nativity at Grandma Snarr's house. She was dressed as a little lamb, and was super cute! Cousin Sydney really got into her part as Mary, and was great at protecting her "newborn babe." She felt it necessary to interrupt the narration with a classic line, "Will someone PLEASE get this lamb back to where it belongs, she's TRYING to get the baby Jesus!" We were laughing pretty hard. We knew poor Sydney was serious, but we couldn't help it. It did help a little that Grandpa (a.k.a. Joseph) just continued reading the Christmas Story....but only a little.

So there's a little synopsis of our Holiday. Life these days consists of a constant effort to keep our little one out of trouble. She's very good at and willing to pull everything out of the diaper bag, and to take all of the books off the bottom two shelves so I can dust. What a helper! She's getting much faster at crawling, and is side-steppin her way from couch to couch. She wants to walk so badly, but is still reluctant to let go of fingers just yet. It won't be long now!

She's just a happy, sweet, little cutie! (I don't know if I've mentioned that before) :) It's so fun to see her try new things and become more and more interactive. It's official--I love bein' a mom!

Hope all is well with all of you. Again, I love reading your blogs and keeping in touch. Love ya'll! Have a great day!

Daddy Jake tried some pigtails, but ended up with some Shrek-like horns. Still pretty cute though! :)

Merry Christmas to All...

Hey Everyone,

Raise your hand if you can't believe it's December already!?! Mine is raised!
Man, this year is just going too fast.

A few things that have happened since I posted last... Jentri
is 9 months and counting! She's officially crawling and
getting into everything, and like some babies goes straight
for the wall outlets. Luckily there hasn't been any electricution involved, so we're fortunate there. She definitely keeps us on our toes! She's to the point where sitting on Mama's lap is in no way where she wants to be for any length of time. And watch your thumbs and forefingers because she'll grab on and run for the door! She's pulling herself up on chairs, and even pulled one over on her head when I wasn't watching at church on Sunday. Whoopsies!

She also survived her first ear infection, and was on antibiotics for a week or so. She's also got her bottom two teeth, and teething actually isn't as horrible as I thought it would be. She was quite ornery, don't get me wrong, but most of the time it didn't take me long to get her calmed down when she was hurting. What fun!

We're so excited for her first Christmas, we have a plethora of empty boxes wrapped up for her to open, since that's what she'll be content playing with. Well, really I have to keep reminding myself that she's only 9 mos. old and really doesn't need all the fun toys and cute outfits I see and want to buy for her. Jake seems to think she needs a Wii, but we all know who that would really be for. :)

Anyway, as far as life for the rest of us, it's going great. Jake's got a review at his job this next week and will be getting a raise, so can't complain there. I've started waiting tables again a couple of nights a week at Applebee's in Orem, which has been pretty fun. It gets me out of the house if nothing else, and we've got a little extra money for Christmas.

We're still teaching the 6&7 year olds in Primary, and that is SO fun. The kids are so funny, and we've learned a lot from them. A couple of weeks ago we were talking a little about the creation, and I asked them who causes the apples to grow, to which they replied without hesitation, "Johnny Appleseed." How silly of me to not know the answer to that obvious question! :) And last week we asked what Heavenly Father and Jesus said to Joseph Smith when they appeared to him in the Sacred Grove. The kids so matter of factly said, "They said, 'What's yer name?'" I was laughing so hard! Needless to say, they put a smile on my face! We'll miss them when we get a new class in a couple weeks.

Well, that's us. We hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Let us know how you're doing. I love reading blogs, it's so fun! We've also loved getting Christmas cards from some of you! Keep 'em comin'! We feel so blessed to have you all in our lives, THANK YOU for all you do! We love you! Merry Christmas!

Hunting Buddies

What a pair! I'm giving you a secret sneak peek at Jentri's Halloween costume by posting these pics, but I couldn't resist. We had no trouble finding something for Jake to wear hunting, we just had to go through the old Murray High "Game Clothes" box and he was set.

He survived his first deer hunt this last weekend with his Dad and brothers. Unfortunately, the deer survived too, but the boys said they had a good time anyway. Jen and I had fun at home with her Aunt Aly and Cousins Kaylee and Katelynn. I don't think we would have wanted to be out in the snow! Brrr!

Is it really October? I know I say this just
about every post, but where has this year gone? Jake's almost been at his "new" job for a year now, and Jentri will be 8 months old on the 4th.
So crazy! Life is good & busy! This month has seemed especially busy,
but I think I like it better that way. More gets done when there's more to do.

Well, I think that's it for now. Hope all is well with all of you! Love ya'll!
