I figured since more than one person has mentioned I need a new post, it must really be time. :)So Jake's mom has always been really great about doing things with and for her Grandkids. She's done what she calls "Grandma Day" where she takes the kids for a couple hours the same day every week and just does something with them. EVERY week. Some weeks it's just taking them to baseball practice or something every day, and other weeks it's been going to a dollar movie, swimming, stuff like that. I've been so amazed at her diligence in keeping it up, and apparently she started it when Cody and Braydon were Jentri's age (they're now 10). We haven't done it much now because Cody, Kaylee, & Katelynn decided to move to Levan, so it's harder to get together. But we're still able to do it once or twice a month, which is nice. I've been invited along since Jen came along, I think because she knew I needed to get out of the house, but I've loved going and think it's a really cool tradition.
ANYWAY, because of Grandma Day my wonderful Mother-in-Law has all sorts of fun traditions she's started with the kids, one of which is going to Gardner Village in October to see the Witches. Sad to say I'd never been to see them until I started going with them, and I grew up not far from there. Sad! It's so fun! The witches are so funny and I love all the little shops around there. They even have a little scavenger hunt for the older kids that makes it pretty fun. I didn't get too many pictures because I was chasing Jentri around/pushing the stroller, but we got a few...
Jen loved it! And, I actually got her to sit still long enough for a picture, AMAZING! (I know I'm a little biased, but isn't she so darn cute!?!) Anyway, I wish I'd gotten a pic of her favorite witch, the one that's suspended over the pond riding a bike. It's pretty cool looking. All the way home and throughout the next day she kept saying, "Witch, bike." It took me a while to figure out what she was talking about, but luckily I got to hear it over and over again so I could. :) Such a fun tradition, and the kids look forward to it every year!Here are a couple of pics from last year of my favorite witches... :)
